Ever wanted to be a forum moderator? Decoded Magazine are bringing back forums!

As part of our expansion, Decoded Magazine is bringing back forums and we are looking for Moderators around the world. So what does a Moderator do? In a nutshell, they are guardians of the forums to ensure that users are treated fairly and ensure they remain a civil and exciting place for all to use.

Some people used to refer to Moderators (Mods) as God, others have lesser things to say, but for the most part, they are the eyes and ears of any successful group who are fair, balanced and able to handle requests quickly and efficiently. So what are the Decoded forums going to contain and how is it a good thing for the wider music industry?

Long before social media, users interacted via IRC or Forums and created communities on topics that they were interested in. We believe that social media has created a blow out with users in connecting and networking with fans or industry and has become groups full of spam with links to events or mixes with no real structure or engagement. We wish to encourage users to join discussions and topics in their home cities, countries or across threads as Techno, Progressive House, through to DJ Tech talk, Producers or even lifestyle threads such as travel.

So why become a moderator?

Finding your feet in the music industry can be difficult at the best of times and this offers someone who is IT literate, able to provide a few hours a week and a love of music, to engage in the global music industry. It gives a solid grounding on the inner workings of the music industry as well as make life long networking professional contacts (plus it can be pretty fun, along with all the cool stuff you get)

So who are we looking for?

It is quite simple, if you are considerate, fair, calm and absolutely love electronic music, then we want to speak to you, however, a few things go well in your favour

Able to provide a minimum of 1 hour per day
Basic to advance IT understanding / skills
Have a passion to help people with inquiries
Ability to deal effectively with conflict and create a balance resolution for all parties
Be an effective Brand Ambassador for Decoded Magazine at all times
Have a high understanding of specific music (ie: House, Techno, Progressive) or general topics such as politics, travel etc
A good level of English (although other languages are very welcome)

So how do you apply and know more?

Simple, write to us a little bit about yourself, you passions and why you would like to join our team as a Moderator. Send all applications to application@decodedmagazine.com

P.S No Dictators allowed
