Liverpool clubnight 303 have caused quite a stir in the city over the past five years, welcoming a smorgasbord of the best names in house and techno to their regular parties. Andrew Weatherall, Dave Clarke, Erol Alkan, and Surgeon are among the top drawer dance music exponents who have delivered for them, many DJs choosing to regularly return to a party which boasts one of the most hedonistic and musically mature crowds in the UK.
So they’re rightfully proud of hitting this milestone of half a decade. As such 2018 promises to be a year where they emphasises that pride, through a series of events across Liverpool celebrating the sonic success of the party since its inception. Some will be in venues they’ve previously taken on with aplomb, such as the Williamson Tunnels, alongside fresh spaces yet to benefit from the 303 magic, with DJs new and old delivering their electronic mandate to the scouse masses.
Saturday 3rd February sees the first show within that series. 303 will transform Invisible Wind Factory, one of the most dynamic spaces in the city’s vibrant Docklands district, into a mecca for melodic house and techno. Progressive house legend Nick Warren will make his debut for the brand, alongside former 303 stalwarts Guy J, Henry Saiz and Charlie May, each adding their own take on electronic music’s thudding groove.
Then on Easter weekend, they’ll welcome the vortex master himself down to the same venue, John Digweed taking control on Saturday, March 31st. The Bedrock head honcho remains one of house and techno’s most proficient DJs, capable of blistering assaults through the genre’s deepest and darkest recesses and a guaranteed club filling name. He’ll be supported on the evening by dutch tyro Patrice Baumel, both DJs playing 303 for the same time.
