The annual Artist Debate this year features Nicky Romero and Martin Solveig in Power to the Artist!, looking at how these hugely popular figures spend their fan-love capital, and examining how they leverage their fan base to effect positive changes and eventually, hopefully, a better society. More top names for the Artist Debate are due to be announced shortly. Meet the Godfathers on Thursday brings together music legends who were making proto-house and techno before the words were even invented, including Manuel Göttsching of Ash Ra Tempel, Irmin Schmidt of Can, and Boris Blank of Yello, alongside Kenny Dope Gonzalez of Masters at Work and Paul Hartnoll of Orbital.
To mark our 20th anniversary, we’ve asked some of the music industry’s best known names (and a few wild cards) to talk for 20 minutes about business-related topics that are close to their hearts. So far confirmed are Daniel Miller of Mute, Cooking Vinyl’s Martin Goldschmidt, Kenny Gates of PIAS, Helen Smith of IMPALA, Kobalt Music’s Willard Ahdritz, Herman Schepers of the GSMA and Lucy Blair of Motive Unknown.
