Title: The Rush Flint EP
Release: Out Now!
Genre: Tech House
Kittball Records has a reputation for memorable anthems of analog makeup. The label was founded by superstars Tube & Berger and Juliet Sikora, so it is easy to see how their levels of output have been so great. AFFKT makes his debut on the German label with a true funking piece of genius split into a two track EP. Sincopat boss Marc Martinez Nadal shows off his drive for perfection and his colourful sound through each layer of the spectrum.
The delayed Moog really hits the sweet spot, it is what Kittball are all about! Such a clean,well-mixedd track containing all the pieces of the puzzle to make this record really stand out. The joyous melody running throughout, like the spine of the track, enriched with punchy, vintage drum sounds and electrifying synth lines all gel together and build up an aurora of great feelings.
A bassline reminiscent of the infamous 1970’s disco era is compliant with the listeners need for funk. It’s a style that puts a smile on the face of any who hear it and displays AFFKT’s skill in the studio, beyond doubt.
With what is a fantastic debut EP on Kittball from AFFKT, his display of soulful grooves and delightful melodies, I find myself eager for the two to team up more often and bring us some more gems like ‘The Rush Flint EP’. Straight to the top of my setlist both tracks will go!
