Alessandro Diga’s new track ‘Verzonken In Gedachten’ (Dutch for Lost In Thought) has arrived on the superb InLab label. I’ve been a big fan of this imprint for quite some time, as it does have a habit of putting out some incredibly well-crafted Progressive and intricate Electronica from its stable of up-and-coming artists like Worakls and N’To. I’ve been playing tracks from their output for the last year or two and i’ve always been impressed at how they manage to source such interesting material for such a relatively small independent label.
This new track that’s been given a new lick of paint by Paul Hazendonk and Noraj Cue and is a decent example of what they specialise in. Burbling ethereal Progressive that’s not afraid to delve the darker regions of House. It’s a sinister beast that will possibly best suit the intermediate hours of the evening when you’re steadily laying the foundations for that bruising Techno that’s to come. It has to be said there are better offerings out there (certainly on the InLab imprint), and the track does have a certain blandness to it, but it’s interesting enough to warrant inclusion into the sets of Prog DJs who are in the mood for being moody.
