Artist: Arado
Title: Rolling Hard EP
Label: Roush
Release: 26th September 2016
Genre: Tech House

This September comes German producer Arado’s debut on Hector Couto’s mega Roush imprint with an unbelievable 6 track EP, including a huge retro remix from the label head himself.

Arado’s rise to fame has been an epic one, releasing on great labels such as Loco Dice’s Desolat, the legendary Moon Harbour, Riva Stars essential Snatch records and more. His distinct brand of raw, percussion based records have been bringings clubs, festivals, and dancefloors alive since debuting back in 2009 and he hasn’t looked back since.

The sensual 6 track EP starts with the fresh, funky beats of the lively ‘Rolling Hard’. The analog sounds see us seamlessly drift into a state of perpetual motion. Soft synths connect together piece by piece with the low rumble of the kick and bassline, The crisp percussion complements the various synth lines which are mixed to expert level. Vocal shots fill in the gaps and guide us into each section, leading the way to rave central.

Hector Couto’s remix takes on a more retro, old school house feeling. The bright Techno stabs which set that era alight are brought back in fashionable style throughout Hector’s remix. His famous signature pumps us up and adds an air of excitement all around.

Arado’s unique style is portrayed impeccably from top to bottom. ‘Cheat Day’ ticks all the boxes with its combination of pitched vocals, atmospheric delays and huge soaking wet synths driving back into the deep, gritty drop. ‘Cosmic Girl’ delivers yet another hair-raising collection of sounds. The electric melodies and gleaming strings keep in touch with the overall feel of the track. ‘Fat Toni’ strips down to more minimal action, the fatness construed in the productive techniques.

The sounds of Detroit House have inspired and gripped listeners for decades, since the dawn of the Electronic era. Arado’s ‘Tough Detroit’ is a fantastic tribute to that era. His choice of crafted sounds perfectly represents the legacy of Detroit on the music scene, from the rattle of the sub frequencies, the use of vintage material and the fat pumping stabs.

With the world famous Hector Couto on board, you know ‘Rolling Hard’ is going to be a memorable EP. Koln can be very proud of Arado and his impressive list of achievements so far. As fans of his sound, we can all be very proud to have Arado inspiring the electronic music realm.
