11. CIELO NYC: USA
Located in New York City’s Meatpacking District, Cielo is a Manhattan nightclub that blends modernity with retro style, a self-proclaimed “mature” experience designed purely for music and dancing. Cielo is an intimate space—holding about 300 people—armed with a Funktion One soundsystem and a specially designed sunken dance floor, decked out with warm-hued tones bathed in an extensive lighting system. Cielo largely focuses on house and techno, but it has played host to all sorts of parties, including Francois K’s weekly Monday Deep Space night focusing on music inspired by and in dialogue with dub, Thursday’s house-focused Roots with Louie Vega and Kevin Hedge, and alternating special events on weekends.
12. COACHELLA: USA
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly known simply as Coachella or the Coachella Festival) is an annual two-weekend, three-day music and arts festival, founded by Paul Tollett, organized by Goldenvoice (a subsidiary of AEG Live), and held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley. The event features many music genres, including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic music, as well as sculpture. Across the grounds, several stages continuously host live music. The main stages are: Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent, and the Sahara Tent (2006 and 2011 also featured the addition of a smaller Oasis Dome and 2013 featured a new Yuma stage.)
13. COCOON IN THE PARK: UK
Cocoon in the Park returns in 2014 with an even bigger, extended lineup of 5 diverse acts to one of the UK’s biggest open-air events and most talked about fixtures on the summer festival circuit. In true Cocoon tradition Sven Väth will headline the event, alongside support from a stellar lineup, including, Seth Troxler, Appolonia, Enzo Siragusa and Special Guest all across one stage. The picturesque setting of Temple Newsam will once again play host to thousands of music-lovers complimented by state of the art visuals, pyrotecnics and performances from the dancers at Cocoon to transform the majestic backdrop of Temple Newsam – House into the ultimate boutique festival experience.

A pyramid structure, which follows the idea of mystique ascension and transparent walls, which evoke a vision of infinity. The Cocorico club is and is never as it seems and is much more of what you remember: the evolution is its peculiar characteristic. Cocorico a symbol. The first trendy local for the great mass. Any taken picture, in any instant, belongs already to the past.

Creamfields is the world’s leading dance music festival. Born in 1998, the original dance festival set out to provide the clubbing world with a bespoke large scale outdoor event and has gone on to become the most popular and renowned open air electronic music festival in the world.
16. DANCE VALLEY: NETHERLANDS
Dance Valley is without a doubt the Baddest electronic music festival in the Netherlands. From Trance and House to the moon and back again via body pumping Electro tunes and raging Hardstyle, you’ll experience everything music DJ’s from all over the world have to offer. 17. DC10: IBIZA
Situated in a former aircraft hangar at the end of the runway of Ibiza Airport, DC-10 is a covered terrace that fits about 1500 people. Open since 1999, the open-air terrace club was given a roof in 2007 to shelter the roar from airplanes, and features two dance floors, a garden area, as well as a DJ booth with room for more than a few people. Its very sparse decor is the antithesis of most other Ibiza clubs, though it does tend to change colour with each new season. DC-10 is well-known for its Monday all-day Circoloco parties.

Founded in 2003, Decibel Festival has become a unique platform for exposing attendees to leading-edge multimedia art from around the globe. With a focus on live performance, interactive multimedia art, state-of-the-art sound and technology based education; Decibel has solidified itself as one of the premier electronic music festivals and promotional organizations in the world. The five-day festival program averages over 25,000 attendees a year.
19. DETROIT ELECTRONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL: USA
Movement Electronic Music Festival is an annual three-day event held during Memorial Day weekend celebrating Detroit’s electronic music legacy. The festival takes place inside Hart Plaza – Detroit’s iconic riverfront park – and features: five technologically-rich outdoor stages; more than 100 artists; free Wi-Fi access on the grounds; a posh VIP setting located behind the main stage; dozens of official afterparties; an interactive technology centre featuring the hottest gear in the industry; and several art displays to stimulate the senses. Over 107,000 people from around the globe attended the 2013 festival.
