21. DIGITAL: NETHERLANDS
With DGTL’s ADE-trilogy behind us, all eyes are set on the future, as everyone is gearing up for DGTL festival 2014. On Easter weekend – 19 & 20 April 2014 – DGTL returns to Amsterdam’s NDSM-docklands to present you; a weekend filled with the best underground electronica around today. The old shipyard, located on the waterfront of the city harbour, is the setting for a memorable season opener, with 2 days of festival, 6 stages, supported by no less than 81 artists.
22. DIMENSIONS FESTIVAL: CROATIA
Dimensions is an underground electronic music festival held at Fort Punta Christo, one of the best festival locations in Europe. With a sharp focus on sound and production, Dimensions is the perfect place to enjoy the deep end of electronica, the finest in techno, house, deep dubstep, drum & bass and other electronic sounds. With chilled beats playing during the daytime beach sessions so you can relax and rejuvenate, and daily boat parties taking off from the harbour there is plenty to see and do. The Festival opens with a Concert in Pula’s 2000 year old Roman Amphitheatre which is a short boat ride from the festival site and ensure Dimensions Festival is like nothing you have ever experienced before.
23. DONAUINSELFEST: AUSTRIA
Donauinselfest has become one of the largest open-air festivals in Europe and each year attracts visitors from around the world. Performances take place on the festival area at a length of 4,5 km on numerous open-air stages and tented areas around the island.
24. DOUR FESTIVAL: BELGIUM
In 2014, the Dour Festival will be celebrating its 26th anniversary from July 17th to 20th. The campsite will open its gates on Wednesday, July 16th at 4pm, for visitors holding a 4-day pass that includes camping.
25. EASTERN ELECTRICS: UK
The Eastern Electrics Festival will return in 2014 with a one-day event on Saturday, August 2nd. After taking place over three days in 2013, this year it’ll revert to a one-day affair. “We are going back to the one-day format for this year, which will mean people don’t have to commit to the whole weekend, but will still retain the same number of stages and all other non-musical entertainment from last year. A new site will be unveiled, which is absolutely stunning and that they hope will be their home for many years.
26. ELECTRIC DAISY CARNIVAL: USA
No longer simply an electronic music festival, Electric Daisy Carnival has grown into a one of a kind, full entertainment experience. EDC combines the world’s most renowned dance music talent with leading-edge production to create an unparalleled experience of sight and sound that you will have to encounter for yourself to believe. 27. ELECTRIC PICNIC: IRELAND
Electric Picnic 2014 will take place from Friday 29th – Sunday 31st August 2014 and has established itself as a truly unique Irish festival, set amid the rolling lawns on the beautiful 600 acre estate just 50 mins from Dublin.
28. ELECTRIC ZOO: USA
The Electric Zoo Festival is an annual electronic music festival held over Labour Day weekend in New York City on Randall’s Island. The festival represents all genres of electronic music, bringing top international DJs and live acts from multiple countries along with hometown favourites.
29. EXIT FESTIVAL: SERBIA
The dates for the 15th edition of Exit are from Thursday 10th to Saturday 13th July 2014, and it happens at Petrovaradin Fortress, Novi Sad, in Serbia. What began as a student-initiated project to rally against Serbia’s Milosevic regime in 2000 has since become a blossoming behemoth of a music event and one of the continent’s most formidable festivals.
