Assembler Code to curate a series of immersive events at Sydney’s Club 77

The next instalment of Club 77’s In Residence series will see things done a little differently. Assembler Code will be taking the reins for 3 Saturdays over the next few months, curating a fully immersive experience showcasing a diverse selection of local underground DJs combined with live hybrid hardware sets and projection mapping lighting visuals.

The Australian producer and mixing / mastering engineer is based in Worimi Country, NSW. Known for his fast-paced electro, punchy techno heaters and spacey breaks, Assembler Code has been making waves across the globe. Releasing on countless labels including Cultivated Electronics, Mechatronica, etcetc as well as his own label International Chrome runs alongside Jensen Interceptor.

The past few years have seen him honing his impressive and ever-evolving live hardware set, programming speedy drums and raw basslines to create club-oriented dance floor slammers. The first event in the series on Saturday, July 8 will see a version of this as a live hybrid set with Assembler Code x Jun Wan. Delivering hard-hitting club music with support from live equipment.

Multidisciplinary artist Jun Wan is a Gunggandi Man living on Awabakal Country. Jun Wan’s art practice explores his intimate relationship with technology and experimentation with hardware. This debut B2B performance will see Jun Wan on the decks selecting pulsing, high energy, magnetic grooves with Assembler Code injecting mechanical synth lines and percussive blasts from his machines and modular system.

Joining them will be N3BULA, Pink Language and TOBLERON3.

Mulumbina-based artist N3BULA is a familiar name within the local electronic music scene. playing regularly for events such as Dekonstructed, Palace, Newy Bass Crew & Daydreaming as well as broadcasting her signature low frequencies on local airwaves with guest mixes on Bondi Beach Radio, Orbital Radio, 4ZZZ and Mouthfull Radio. A lover of heavy basslines, entrancing drum patterns and spaced-out atmospherics, N3BULA’s set’s flow between techno, breaks, garage, drum & bass and dub.

Pink Language is the most recent project of Eora-based artist Timothy Love with a debut EP out on Nein Records (Germany), combining elements of dark disco, EBM, house and techno. You may have caught them playing at iconic local venues, Harpoon Harry’s, Tokyo Sing Song and of course Club 77 having recently played Thursday Night’s Tempo Comodo.

TOBLERON3 is the lovechild of local dance music nymph Toby Wallis. TOBLERON3, formerly known as DJ Walrus, has serenaded dance floors from Berlin to Brisbane and is a key figure in Eora party collective Cloud 909. Over the years he has curated a hefty vinyl collection spanning sounds from downtempo to D’n’B with recent finds across Italian trance, dub, razor-sharp bass music and amapiano.

Bringing it all together will be iiwii on lighting and production, creating a unique and fully immersive experience combining projection mapping and lighting.
