Barbuto offers up a heavy techno workout on Octopus Recordings

Artist: Barbuto
Title: Vantablack
Label: Octopus Recordings
Release Date: Out Now!
Genre: Techno

Native to Australia, Barbuto has come a long way since relocating to Austin, Texas. He has perfected his sound and developed his own signature brand of peak time, ultra sleek techno, and because of this, it’s no surprise he has come to the attention of Octopus Recordings boss, Sian. Barbuto’s previous release on Sian’s label was the impressive ‘Arcana’ and his latest release is certainly just as impressive.

The opening track on the release is the title track ‘Vantablack’ which as you would expect is a peak time techno banger. The track has a deep, low end rumbling bassline that certainly sets the tone for this hefty techno workout. Barbuto uses some sampled low-end vocal snippets and the cymbal rides on this track are stunning and always keep the pace and energy at a high level.

Next up we have the Enrico Sangiuliano interpretation of the title track. The remix is not that dissimilar to the original, probably due to the fact the original is so impressive. However, Enrico does embrace the rave like samples and hits in places to just keep things a little different. Nice rework and would be good to use as a tool alongside the original.

The final track on the release is ‘Armadillo’ which, like the title track, is a full on workout designed for the heavy techno dancefloors around the globe. The elements used by this man in his productions are superb and all do their job to perfection. Some great samples and one hits in here and the savage synth line is superb… Great techno banger right here!
