If ever a release were to sum up quality, cutting edge music, it’s this one which is nothing short of amazing, as the Grammy nominated producer Barry Jamieson’s ‘Stars’ gets a full makeover. In so far, the results are breath-taking, when you get one of the most talented stars in dance music Guy J and the very cool Charlie May, by way of their remixes. Originally recorded in 2002 this track happens to be one of those evergreens. That one which is engrossingly timeless!

Starting off with the subliminal quietness of the Ambient Mix; an enigmatic version at once captivating and calls for repeated listening at best. The soft tinklings and melody line simply lulls the senses to some kind of heavenly cloud. Straight on to the Guy J remix; his rework is smooth and fuming. The Israeli producer puts his unmistakable stamp by adding a groovy rhythm; the melody gets a new winding character and staccato Bass goodness accompanies a twisting the head quality, he fashions oh so well.

Charlie May dominates the rest of the pack with three wondrous versions. First of which is the Black Hole Remix that just spells drama; the harmony gets a glaze over, the bass hurries one on, and dollops of percussion meets a seductive soft synth palette. Drop down to the Black Hole Dub Mix thrives on an instant internalization and delirious futuristic electronic assembly. Words cannot describe how ridiculously fancy this version is, it’s that ten minutes master blaster of gob-smackingly good sonic commitment. Hurrying on to the Low-g Remix, accounts for ambient serenity that quietly beckons you to take a chill pill and relax in its warm fold. Glistening watery bubbles of funk bass and clattering percussions makes this very sexy, very nice.

The finishing up comes with fissured Progressive finesse from the Original Mix by Barry Jamieson. It’s a standing musical testament of high quality production values, mixed in with anxious synth stabs, poignant strains and a mesmerizing melody line. Top stuff!!!
