Legendary UK house act Basement Jaxx will be headlining the legendary RBMA (Red Bull Music Academy) Sound System at Notting Hill Carnival this year.

Joining them on the line up you’ll find Protoje & Yaadcore – the Jamaican reggae/dub cohorts who will be making their Carnival debut; Trappist Brazilians Tropkillaz; RBMA alumnusKalbata & Mixmonster with MC Clapper Priest; fresh from playing the Red Bull stage at St Pauls Carnival, Bristolian riddim kings Jus Now with their Soca-fuelled sounds; Mixpak Sound System and bashment purveyors The Heatwave.

Basement Jaxx started in Brixton, South London, in 1994, where they held a regular club night called Basement Jaxx, which was also held in a variety of venues including The George IV, The Crypt and The Junction. They were joined regularly by DJs including DJ Sneak, Daft Punk, and singer Corrina Joseph. They mutated the night into an equally popular club called Rooty, the namesake of their second album.

The Notting Hill Carnival is an annual event that since 1966 has taken place on the streets of Notting Hill, London, UK, each August over three days (the August bank holiday Monday and the two days beforehand). It is led by members of the West Indian community and the carnival has attracted around one million people in the past years, making it one of the largest street festivals in the world.
