EMC is thrilled to announce Carl Cox as the first keynote speaker for the 2015 edition of EMC. Legends don’t come much bigger than Carl Cox. Techno’s favourite star has been one of the most respected names in dance music for the last 25 years, from his early days as a DJ in the mid-80s to his globe-trotting status as an electronic statesman in 2015. Cox has been a resident at Space Ibiza for over a decade, took out the Number 1 spot in the first ranked DJ Mag Top 100 poll and handles an eight-hour set like no other. With Carl’s ‘Global’ radio show now reaching 17 million weekly listeners worldwide, he’s also one of the most important music broadcasters on the planet.
This year’s conference will be held on Tuesday December 1 and Wednesday December 2 throughout the Ivy complex, one of Sydney’s premier entertainment venues and the new home for EMC.
For the first time, EMC will be offering tiered delegate pass options, with the introduction of EMC Pro and EMC Academy passes.
· EMC Pro passes start from $199, with a limited release of advance early-bird tickets on sale from today. EMC Pro will give delegates full access to all EMC keynotes, masterclasses, panels, networking events and parties.
· The new EMC Academy pass starts from $199 and has been created for aspiring artists, managers, promoters and others wanting to access the EMC Masterclass program only. In addition to artist-led masterclass production sessions, this year’s EMC Masterclass program will also include tailored interviews and panel discussions focusing on the needs and interests of emerging artists and industry members.
Following a successful launch in 2014, EMC will again host its Incoming Visitors Program in partnership with Australia Council for the Arts. Last year’s program saw EMC invited ten leading international bookings agents, promoters and A&Rs in electronic music to the event for the purpose of connecting them with local artists and managers, resulting in a number of signings, export and touring opportunities for many Australian artists in the markets of North America and Asia. This year, EMC will host a new group of talent buyers from various developed and fast emerging markets in Asia as well as North America, Europe and the United Kingdom.
Finally, EMCPlay, a program of public showcase events, that in 2014 featured over 120 Australia’s top emerging and established artists playing in various Kings Cross venues over two nights, returns in 2015 as a even bigger one night event with applications and venue details to be announced.
More speakers and program information to be announced in the coming months.
