Review – Carly Foxx delights with a quality deep houser on Danse Club Records

Artist: Carly Foxx

Genre: Deep House

Danse Club Records has been a stable base for quality house music for a good couple of years now and the latest EP by Carly Foxx is no exception to that rule…

First up on this release is the original track which is a relatively downtempo groover. The percussion has an almost live feel to it and the claps have a lovely effected sound. Both compliment the beautiful deep tones of the melody that appears to cascade in from nowhere and float over you like a warm breeze. When the bass kicks in it has that superb low end that almost feels like a old Farley and Heller track. Throughout the track you are graced with stunningly warm and beautiful french spoken words that drip through the track like water and complete the track to perfection before you hear the words “Let Me Be Yours” to end the break. Stunning deep house number!!!

On remix duties is the ever impressive DJ T. and he certainly doesn’t disappoint here. He keeps a lot of the original elements (Probably because so many of the elements are bloody good). His version has far more pace as he kicks things into more tech house territory, certainly a house track for the dance floor! He has used effects on the vocal to make it sound a little more echoed which adds a nice touch and he adds some very nice uplifting chords! He also created a more stabbed feel with some of the chords which adds an almost deep techno vibe! Superb remix here from a man I have utter respect for as a producer!

I am not sure if the Acappella tool will be included on the full release but it is a very useful tool that those DJs who like to mess about will surely love.

All in all a superb package that includes two very well produced deep/tech house numbers. If I had to choose I would go for the DJ T remix but purely for dance floor reasons. The original is beautiful and one I would love to hear on the deeper dance floors around the globe.
