Charles Fenckler takes things decidedly acidic ahead of his upcoming album on Soma Records

Artist: Charles Fenckler
Title: Stellar Acid EP
Label: Soma Records
Release: Out Now!
Genre: Tech House

Considered one of the finest upcoming European Techno producers, Charles Fenckler joins up with Scottish super label, Soma Records with his debut album ‘Diving From The Void’ which is set for release soon. The Frenchman brings us the first single from the album ‘Stellar Acid’, which includes a mammoth remix from Francois X.

A high paced 303 on a short 16th note grid gets things going in an enterprising fashion. A clicky 909 and reverberated top line of drums guide some modulated pads which add a musical piece to the record. This is rapid old school acidic techno and it is easy to see why the track broke the Beatport Techno top 100 straight from the off. It is a track that contains formidable atomic mass and depth, dynamically rich and pumping from the get off. Top work.

Francois X’s remix of ‘Stellar Acid’ is something that sounds and feels totally fresh. Francois has sacrificed a typical bass line for offbeat low thumps to fill those low frequencies with a rhythmic groove. The acidic elements of the original sit in the forefront and adds seriously catchy and hype inducing aromas. This is the first taste we have had from Charles’ new album and it leaves us feeling super excited to hear what comes next!
