Damien Hirst creates $100,000 per night hotel suite

In true Damien Hirst style, the suite is filled with the likes of sharks suspended in formaldehyde, graphics of oversized pills, and flooring patterned with butterflies. All the aforementioned and more await guests of the suite at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Now comes the cost… the room is available for free for guests with over $1 million (£758,890) in credit at the resort, or anyone else that can splash out $200,000 (£151,753) for a two-night stay, Hirst’s Empathy Suite is spread over 9,000 square feet and occupies two floors.

The Palms Casino Resort reopened last year following a huge amount of renovation work which involved adding art by distinguished names such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, and Takashi Murakami.

“I love what Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta have done with the Palms. It’s amazing being able to work with them because they are great collectors and totally understand art.” – Damien Hirst

It is certainly a suite that would be an experience I am sure you will agree… sadly not one that many of us normal folk can afford but we can dream eh.
