Days Like This is a boutique one-day music festival with a taste for discerning electronic music, food and arts. Featuring a forward-looking music policy, the four main stages will present a fresh perspective on the best in global house, techno, electronica and beyond. The event precinct will offer a creative hub featuring bars, market stalls and premium food options hosted by Sydney’s most respected names in food and art. Immersed within the plush surroundings of Royal Randwick, be prepared for a day and night of musical, culinary and visual exploration.

The lineup includes the world’s best including Dixon, Resident Advisor’s number 1 DJ 4 years in a row (as voted for by RA readers), Life & Death’s Mind Against, who will be making their Sydney debut; electronica master Gold Panda; ‘What’s A Girl To Do’ producer Fatima Yamaha, in another debut Sydney performance; chillwave leader Toro y Moi; the return of Spain’s production wizard John Talabot, plus many more!

Dixon (GER)

Dixon is clubland’s apex predator. Having taken out Resident Advisor’s No. 1 spot as best DJ for 3 years running, it is no surprise that his following on the international circuit has increased 10 fold. There can be no doubt that Dixon is a living legend, and in 100 years the scene will look back at Dixon as one of the best ever. Soundcloud

Ben Klock (GER)

A fixture in Resident Advisor’s top 10 DJs for the best part of a decade, Ben Klock needs little introduction. The Berghain resident has become the global ambassador for techno, a mantle which he carries with impressive ease. Energetic, slamming techno mixed with laser precision… Ben Klock never disappoints. John Talabot (SPN)

John Talabot’s leisurely take on house and disco has seen him emerge as one electronic music’s most revered acts. As an active DJ, and at the helm of his own Hivern Discs imprint, Talabot is emblematic of a new generation of artists for whom idiosyncratic curation, creation, and performance are naturally intertwined. As one of half of Talaboman, he released the instant classic “Sideral.” But it his DJ sets which really draw the crowds – and seen him continually rise on all the world’s DJ charts. Soundcloud

Fatima Yamaha (NL)

Bas Bron its the real name of Fatima Yamaha, a Dutch producer who has become one of the most sought-after LIVE acts on the global circuit. Little did he know that an innocuous track he produced in 2003, ’What’s A Girl To Do’, would get an re-issue in 2015 on the hotter-than-hot Dekmantel Records, and become the biggest release that year. Well, that is just what happened, and the track, which samples a very famous Scarlett Johansen dialogue from Lost in Translation, has turned this fairly shy producer into a world wide phenomenon. Last year he was voted into Resident Advisor’s best Live act poll for the first time, and this year he has been the talk of every European festival he played at. Soundcloud

Gold Panda Live (UK)

Hailing from Chelmsford Essex in the UK, Gold Panda has created some of the most lush and uplifting electronic music on the planet. With touches of hip-hop, breaks, house, techno and more, his live sets are in high demand all over the world. Earlier this year the producer released his new album ‘Good Luck and Do Your Best’, another critically acclaimed release which Pitchfork proclaimed as ‘quite unlike any of the electronic music being made in 2016’. Last seen in Victoria playing Golden Plains 2014, Gold Panda’s returns is a highly anticipated one – and he will definitely be one of the festival highlights. Soundcloud

Toro y Moi Live (USA)

Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Chaz Bundick has been actively involved in music going back to his early teenage years playing in punk and indie rock bands. Bundick unveiled his Toro y Moi guise in 2001, in which he began incorporating electronics and channeling a wider swath of stylistic influences – from indie rock and ‘60s baroque pop to ‘80s R&B, French house and underground hip-hop – into his own solo music. ABRA is a singer and producer who makes shadowy, mostly slow R&B that deviates from the slicker sounds of the genre’s commercial artists. Also known as the ‘darkwave duchess’, ABRA is part of Awful Records, a highly touted rap and musical collective from Atlanta. Even within the rap-oriented Awful crew she is an iconoclast: for her own productions, she avoids the conventional sounds of Atlanta trap in favour of drums and synthesizers reminiscent of 1980’s pop. Never compromising on her vision or artistic process, she has moulded her surroundings into a strict aesthetic and vision. Pitch is extremely excited to host this unique voice in what will be an unmissable performance. Soundcloud

Gerd Janson (GER)

Gerd Janson is often referred to as a “DJ’s DJ,” but that term doesn’t really do the man justice. Janson has long been celebrated for his residency at Frankfurt’s famed Robert Johnson club, but he’s also been added to the stable at Berghain/Panorama Bar and Trouw; it seems that all of Europe’s best clubs are after his services, and he was even tapped on the shoulder this year to compile an edition of fabric’s famed compilations series. The Running Back label owner has had one of his strongest years ever, and we cannot be more excited to host this tastemaker at the top of his game. Soundcloud

Nathan Fake Live (UK)

Norfolk born and bred heir to the UK electronica throne, Nathan Fake has kept fans of fuzzy-edged synths and pounding acidic techno beats alike guessing ever since his debut release at the tender age of 19 on James Holden’s Border Community label. And although a career that has been characterised by such deftly-executed electronic versatility may to the outsider appear chameleonic, schizophrenic even, one thing has remained constant throughout his decade at the electronica coalface: a very real sense of the artist behind the machines, no matter which production hat Fake may currently be sporting his tastemaker at the top of his game. Octave One Live (USA)

Octave One is the brainchild of core members Lenny and Lawrence Burden and has been essential to DJ playlists for over two decades. The prolific band of five brothers has produced classic dance floor anthems that continue to resonate as fresh, groundbreaking tracks. Their 2000 hit single “Blackwater” has sold over one million records worldwide, and Little Louie Vega, Danny Teneglia, Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin are among the DJs that continue to regularly weave the track into their sets. Octave One are currently one of the most in-demand LIVE techno acts on the planet. Soundcloud

Recondite Live (GER)

Recondite emerged from the south of Germany with a poised and elegant brand of techno. Marked by a distinctly animate emotional core, his productions blur organic and synthetic processes into a melange that has reached far beyond the narrow realms of heady, heavy techno. His releases on Ghostly, Innervisions, Dystopian, Life & Death and Hotflush, Recondite and his own Plangent imprint are marked by an assured melodic instinct and an attention to detail that makes for crisp, intimate and expansive music. Considered to be one of the best live electronic performers in the world, his performance at Pitch Music & Arts is not to be missed. Soundcloud

Dominik Eulberg (GER)

Combining uplifting house, electronica and the deeper shades of techno, Dominik Eulberg is a rare bread of DJ who can seemingly do it all. As a producer, Dominik brings together his love of nature and music often blending live field recordings of birds chirping with harmonious melodies to create something truly unique and special. His most recent release ‘Mimikry & Mimese’ on Herzblut Recordings is testament to his undying love of emotive music and we look forward to more of that in the future. Soundcloud

Kiasmos Live (ICE)

Icelandic duo Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen have been working and producing together under the guise, Kiasmos since 2009. Together they combine Ólafur’s love of acoustic, piano-based solo works and Janus’ synth heavy, electro-pop sounds to create a heavenly blend of uplifting and atmospheric electronica. Their debut LP ‘Kiasmos’ released on Erased Tapes Records received critical acclaim, launched them onto the world stage to cement their place as key players in the electronica realm. Soundcloud

Kollektiv Turmstrasse (GER)

There are few artists operating in the house/techno milieu who offer much beyond functionality in their music. Hamburg/ Berlin duo Kollektiv Turmstrasse (Christian Hilscher and Nico Plagemann) are one of those rare acts whose music caters for both body and soul. A busy remix schedule has seen them grace the likes of Cocoon, Get Physical, Soma, Poker Flat, Defected, Systematic and Traum, reworking multifarious acts including Trentemøller, Hot Chip and Terry Lee Brown Jnr. along the way. It’s been 4 years since the German duo’s last visit; needless to say their return is highly anticipated. Soundcloud

Axel Boman (SWE)

Axel Boman is one of the most colourful DJs on the global circuit. His sense of humour shines through in all his productions, and he always imbue his tracks with a sense of mischievous fun. His epic screw house anthem “Purple Drank” on DJ Koze’s Pampa Records imprint is a prime example: It oozes sex – the sort of track your parents warned you about growing up. Of course this streak shines through in his DJ sets too, and you will look hard to find a DJ that can make you dance more than this Swede. He also co-runs the very much in in-vogue label Studio Barnhus, a label which is currently threatening to become one the scene’s most popular. Yes, Mr. Boman is a very exciting addition to Pitch.
