Decoded Magazine touches down in Australia with their first official launch party

It’s not everyday that we get to open a new office in a new country; to celebrate we have teamed up with our friends at Dragronfruit in Brisbane to kick off a series of events around Australia.

Located in the heart of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, Dragronfruit is one of Australia’s leading underground weekly nights, a mixture of indoor and outdoor garden clubbing, powered by Void, whilst having hosted the likes of Joseph Capriati, KINK, Carl Craig, Marcel Dettman, Matthias Tanzmann, Carlo Lio, wAFF and more.

With millions of readers since launching, Decoded has co-hosted events across the world from Mumbai to Amsterdam, with Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Dave Seaman and more, as well as an official closing party with Amsterdam Dance Event each year. With our partnership with Ibiza Live TV to over 2 million viewers a month and having interviewed artists such as John Digweed, Nick Warren, Patrice Buamel, Joris Voorn to James Zabeila, we will be LIVE streaming via our facebook page on the night in digital sound and multi camera angles for readers around the world.

“We are looking forward to welcome our good friends Damion Pell and Mark Craven for the Australian launch of Decoded Magazine. They have been a great supporter of us for almost a year and we can’t wait to have them bring the underground sounds of Europe on our Void system” – Victor Corobea – Booking Manager

“A lot of people don’t even know that I am originally from Sydney as I have been away for so long, but coming home, we quickly found a major gap in the support for the Australian underground music scene and its history,we can’t wait to open up Decoded Magazine to fully support such a diverse and dynamic scene and to host some amazing events across the states int he coming months. With a close relationship with the Dragonfruit team, it was a no brainer when we were invited to kick things off at the club, we can’t wait” – Damion Pell – Editor

Damion Pell has graced international decks for the last two decades. As a former major label owner, journalist and promoter, he has played across the world, the shores of Ibiza, on top of mountains at Snowbombing, in castles in Barcelona to hosting his own regular night at London’s Ministry of Sound – The Gallery (103) for years. Signed to Stripped Digital Records as well as releases on BSR, EJ Underground and Gibbon Records, his reputation for crate digging obscure melodic techno and progressive house tunes and technical selection, his Kollective Series has lauded him wide praise in the industry as a DJ.

A taste of what to expect on the night:

Joining us on the night is Ireland’s Mark Craven, co-owner of Kiltr Sessions. Another artist with two decades of deep electronic music having regularly played from Ibiza, Return to Rio, to Austria’s Snowbombing Festival. Now based in Sydney, Mark runs the legendary Kiltr Sessions with Gary Agolini hosting monthly shows with international acts at Sly Fox. Mark Craven’s is known to lead us down a trippy, downright filthy mix of groovy minimal and techno. It is everything a DJ set should be- underground, forward thinking and technically perfect. With hints of Chicago house and Detroit techno.
