Born from a dance music fan page with over 6,500 members along with a supporting DJ page, and the idea was to try and create an event that was taking the music back to the people. Promoter Andrew explains;
We aren’t promoters and don’t want to make this something that we want to overkill or rinse dry, we are 3 guys and a group that want to put on a big party where it’s just music driven and not consumerism. If this event does make a profit then that will be invested in Hush Hush 2, which will provide yet more outstanding talent and maybe some more big name DJs or two, with the final aim being to break completely even.
The venue itself is steeped in history, from the late 70s it has housed many names from a spectrum of different genres, from Sasha to Oasis and The Stone Roses, to the Sugar Hill Gang. As such an iconic venue in the North, it had to be The Warehouse. With a capacity of 1000 people and an amazing Funktion One Sound system, it is the perfect place to create a great vibe and atmosphere, full of knowledgeable and passionate music lovers.
The DJs are selected due to their love and history in the dance music industry, along with some new blood to support the main room, featuring Dave Seaman, Thermal Bear, Ian Ossia and Steve Parry
The Loft is partnered with online radio station -Saturo Sounds with their residents Gareth Rowley Jones, Dave Ackers and Richard Primrose, supporting Mark Wilkinson (Renaissance) and Jonny Burg (Industria Birmingham)
