Hailing from Sheffield, a place regarded as a backbone within electronic music, Alex Oxley’s obsession with music was present from an early age. And under his Mister Sushi guise across seventeen years record collecting and DJing, his unrelenting dedication is ever strong.
As a DJ, record label owner, music publicist, radio presenter and promoter Alex drives passion into all he does. Moving to London in his early 20’s, he was exposed to one of the worlds most deserve electronic music scenes, which he soon immersed himself in performing sets at across the city and beyond.
Few DJs can say they’ve shared stages with krautrock titans Faust, alt hip hop pioneers Antipop Consortium, electro powerhouse Dopplereffekt and the innovative Caribou, but Alex’s expansive record collection has also found him performing alongside a plethora of talent from across many genres, including Mogwai, Legowelt, A Guy Called Gerald, Jon Hopkins, Max Cooper, and Mount Kimbie to name a few.
