Discotech finishes 2023 with Nicola Brusegan’s “Universal Love” EP

Rounding off what has been another prolific year for UK-based discotech is their latest digital body of work. Heading up the release is acclaimed Italian artist Nicola Brusegan as he shows his hand with three original tracks within the “Universal Love” EP, and these are joined by a dynamite remix from label founder Jordan Diston and discotech resident Elliot Hollins. Nodding towards the heyday of House as the release addresses deep, emotive and feel-good energy, synonymous with the 90s.

The title track “Universal Love” is a classy house jam constructed upon slick drum patterns and uplifting vocals. A track made for the purest of dance floor moments. Coming in with a modern club room twist is Elliot Hollins and Jordan Diston’s remix of “Universal Love”, a low-swung groove utilising the killer samples from the original to drop this new version on its head. Dusty broken drums and icy hi-hats lead the way in “The Greater Thought”, a driven trip laced with beautiful percussion and dreamy synths. Last but not least is the deep house exploration “Symphony”, a smooth journey transcending the after-party into the hazy hours.

A prime example of refined house music full of life and colour, discotech provides a selection of tracks to cruise you out of 2023 into 2024, as the label sets its sights on its biggest year to date.

‘After 12 years of running events and 4 years running the label, it’s brilliant to be at a point where I can start releasing my own music. It’s safe to say that in that time I’ve been truly inspired as I’ve travelled on my own musical journey. The time feels right and myself and Elliot  can’t wait to finally be able to showcase what we’ve been working on together as well as us also working on some solo projects as well which will be dropping in 2024 on vinyl and digital’  – Jordan Diston (discotech)
