DJ Duke & Jansons Remix Yousef’s ‘Give It To Me’

With releases spanning across many iconic dance labels and as the creative mind behind Circus Recordings and Events, music has underpinned Yousef’s entire life. Using music as a tool to heal the heart, mind and soul, the release of his new album 9 Moor Drive explored his often-turbulent childhood whilst reminiscing about all of the fun, laughter and creativity he was exposed to as a boy.

Following on from the album which gained support from tastemakers Mixmag, Earmilk, DJ Mag and Tsugi to name a few, Yousef releases album single ‘Give It To Me’. Having been awarded Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’ accolade, new remixes also appear on the EP from DJ Duke and Jansons.

With the nineties period at the forefront of the track, Yousef reached out to a hero of his, a bonafide dance music legend DJ Duke to remix the track. Gaining recognition in the ’90s when his ‘Blow Your Whistle’ became a chart fixture, DJ Duke found solace in the underground, coining imprints Power Music, Power Music Trax and Sex Mania. His signature sound comes through on ‘Give It To Me’ ramping up the tempo with high octane kicks and classic rave infused organ flourishes.

Circus label affiliate Jansons is one of the UK’s best underground house producers right now. His impressive ‘Switch’ EP released via Circus earlier this year, found wide support on BBC Radio 1 with the likes of Danny Howard, Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Monki continuing to spin the record across the airwaves even now. He returns to Circus, providing a futuristic house rework that pushes his forward-thinking, floor-geared brand of modern house music.

Experiencing highs alongside the lows, the warming yet accomplished soulful house elements of the original ‘Give It To Me’ play into areas of positivity and musical discovery. Inspired by seminal house label, Strictly Rhythm label, ‘Give It To Me’ pays further tribute to the pivotal role house music played in Yousef’s life, tying in with features from Chuck Roberts ‘The Voice Of House’ and Harry Romero on the album.

Yousef’s ‘Give It To Me’ EP is out now on Circus Recordings.
