Perfection is in Imperfection says Drumcomplex on their new long player

Artist: Drumcomplex
Title: Perfection Is In Imperfection LP
Label: Complexed LTD
Release: Out Now!
Genre: Techno

Behold Techno lovers, the electronic dons Drumcomplex bring us a scintillating new album which graciously aligns with the question put forth by the brotherly duo, just how complex can Techno be? Complex enough to leave us with viscous goosebumps and feeling totally charged.

The imperfections certainly add to the unique vibes the duo bring to the Techno realm. With 11 tracks spanning the entire spectrum to bring us the perfect warehouse formula in an album that oozes energy and pulses with emotion.

The strange melody of ‘Venus’ is brought to life with a pacey tremolo effect. The lines of hats, deep off cut percussion and rhythmic pulses surround the inner core of the low end to introduce us to the aggressive German Techno ahead. ‘Perfection’ and ‘If You can’t be Mine’, featuring the marvelous vocals of Misstress Barbara, glisten in the distance, drawing us close before raining down like a hurricane of over-driven waves. The distorted stabs become the jewels of the crown, surrounding the underlying gold made up from the trippy vocals and electrifying elements.

Drumcomplex’s magic continues to cast its spell in the swelling dynamics of ‘Physalia’. Like a colony of electronic sounds bound together and set off to drift the oceanic depths of the underground, this is a track that will certainly spark light in the darkness. ‘Medusa’ hypnotises us with its viperous bite. Although we did start to turn to stone, the rock shattering vibrations of the thick techno kick drum freed us from her grips and had us raving again in no time.

There was certainly an aura of mysticism surrounding the track ‘Aura’. The bell tones shake the underlying beat with an evil drone stalking in the background like a predatory animal, waiting to drag us into its underground lair. ‘King C’ takes the prize for most heart racing track off the album. The intensity achieved really does open up the vessels and sends adrenaline fueled molecules racing around our bodies.

Have you ever looked up at the stars and wondered just what it sounds like up there? Well, now you no longer have to! ‘Star Gazer’ captures that feeling of wonder and the knowledge that even the stars are imperfect. The groove packed Techno slammer is certainly one that artistically achieves that wonder. The genetic makeup of ‘Alraune’ is one that pays tribute to its ancestry. The feeling of classical Techno and the electronic movement of the early days is written through the vibrations of the track, but with a modernised twist to bring us into the fast-paced 21st Century. The ‘Sirens’ are blurring to signal the nuclear explosion of matter that is set to come. Again, the German duo have pumped megatons of charged waves into this solid piece of rave material.

‘Aphrodite’ arrives from the heavens above to finalise the fate of the album. The fate of this incredible LP is obvious. It is, without a doubt, a collection of modern classics which have benchmarked the legacy of Drumcomplex.
