Artist: Duke Dumont
Title: For Club Play Only 4
Label: Defected Records
Released: Out Now!
When one of the biggest names in dance music releases his work on one of the biggest labels in dance music then you know the result will be a real crowd pleaser. This is the fourth instalment of Duke Dumont‘s ‘Club Play Only’ series and it features 2 tracks entitled ‘Be Here’ and ‘Worship’.
‘Be Here’ is the absolute monster hit on this EP – from the beginning of the track you have chunky drums, luscious vocals, warm synths and a fluttering of saxophone sounds flirting in and out of the track. The track then drops to a massive killer vocal which sets the tone for this track to become one of the big summer hits this year. At around the two-minute mark the track breaks into a bobbling bassline that helps to carry the track along into the big main break. The track builds with more saxophone, big vocals, and chunky bass which helps maintain the warm summer feel to this track. This track will be in the setlists of many house DJs this summer!
‘Worship’ offers a totally different flipside to ‘Be Here’. Gone is the happy summer vibes and in are the techno style arpeggios and rolling basslines with hints of eerie airiness. ‘Worship’ is a sort of 80’s inspired, arpeggio fuelled track that has real depth of character to it. The main break opens up with airy sounds and an ever growing arpeggio that lifts you up before dropping you back into the steady rolling melodies of the track that carry you along to the finish. ‘Worship’ is totally different from the summery feel of ‘Be Here’ and offers the listener something else to think about away from the usual sounding mainstream house music.
‘Club Play Only 4’ is an excellent 2 track EP that gives fans of all sides of house music something to enjoy.
