Dustin Nantais returns on Manual Music for his first full length EP since he teamed up with Paul Hazendonk on the release, ‘Underside’ on the recent ‘Summer Movement 2014’ EP. The Toronto based producer is someone we have been keeping a close eye on here at Decoded Magazine, and he has certainly been causing a stir in the electronic music scene with releases on labels like Crossfade Sounds, MNL and Particles.

First up is the title track ‘Happenstance’ which is a very well-produced percussive prog gem. The track soon picks up pace with some clever percussion and hi hats and a groove you will not forget in a hurry. The track builds nicely to the break which is filled with nice effects and some well-placed keys. After the break you get more layered strings and the continuation of that groovy progressive sound. Very solid work from the man Dustin!

Next up we have ‘Foretold’ which is again another well-constructed prog track that is layered with some lush, warm sounds and melodies. It is a track I can certainly see the likes of Nick Warren hammering for sure. The track does have a lovely key shift midway through which just lifts the mood of the whole track. Stunning work!

Another strong release from Dustin here and he is certainly growing with each release. My favourite on the EP is ‘Foretold’ but both tracks are definitely worth playing on any progressive dance floor. Good work Mr Nantais!
