Eli Nissan, the Tel Aviv talent, who has previously released on Lost & Found and Sudbeat, is a name gaining a lot of attention. Whether it’s a track for that 5 am moment of clarity on a sun-drenched terrace, or for taking the listener down the rabbit hole in an intimate club setting, he never fails to deliver quality creations, as this latest offering shows. Khen (Bedrock, Lost & Found) is a star very much on the rise, consistently conquering new ground and gaining new attention with his releases and international standout performances. He makes a welcome return to Plattenbank on remix duties.
First up on this release is the track ‘Everlast’ which is a deep groovy number. The rolling beats, hi-hats and melodic breathy chords just warm the mood of the track to perfection. The track builds with a great patience yet always keeping you on your toes and ready for more. One of the finer pieces of progressive music I have heard in a while.
Next up is ‘Yellow Fog’ which has a tougher kick and way more funk sound than the previous track. This is certainly a track for those dark moody club nights. The plucked strings that drop every now and then make you feel like you are sat in Tel Aviv. One of those tracks that will be living in the sets of Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo for some time I feel. Stunning track!
The final track on the release is Khen’s interpretation of ‘Everlast’ which as you would expect is delivered with a skilful precision. This man could turn anything to gold at present! The remix is a little pacier than the original and certainly builds in a far more progressive manner. The breakdown is filled with tension and that is why I would pick this as my favourite track on this release. This is by no means a slating of the other tracks that are superb, just that this man delivers a truly impeccable remix here.
