The vibrant and ever charming Ellen Allien returns to her impressive BPitch Control with the driving technoid sounds of the Landing XX EP

Artist: Ellen Alien
Title: Landing XX EP
Label: BPitch Control
Release: 11th November 2016
Genre: Techno

The vibrant and ever charming Ellen Allien is back with a new EP, making this year a strike of strong Allien releases that started with ‘Turn Off Your Mind’ on her own imprint BPitch Control, last April. She is known for her strong, technoid and industrial background, and these tracks represent her notorious flair for driving sounds.

First off, the title track shows no sign of shyness, using a strong synth as an atmospheric foundation, continuously being present throughout the unfolding of the track. But it also compliments the underlying vocal, leaving room where it is needed to keep you on your toes.

‘Not Alone’ ups the stakes. The title indicates what will come at you, and the sounds do not disappoint in reflecting the extraterrestrial feeling her name gives you. Here, Ellen uses a nicely optimized hi-hat to drive the rough bassline, taking the energy of the track to another level. Also on the EP you find a slightly different version of the track. ‘Not Alone (U Mix)’ subjects the listener to finely altered distinctions, intriguingly challenging the dedicated fans, and making the EP in interesting addition in the Allien sound specter.
