Review: Esensides gets emotional on Juicebox Music

Artist: Esensides

Genre: Progressive House

The 12th release from Juicebox Music ushers in Billy Alex & Vaggelis Tasoudis with the duo’s collaborative project, Esensides showcasing a breathtakingly good EP poised for release in August. Diving into the first track, ‘Drift Away’ the original mix pulls the heart strings from the word go. With pulsing glistening pads falling around like rain drops and stabs of vocalism the entire tune creates one feeling, that of abandoned euphoria. The bass line stays back as a solid backbone letting the rest of the dithering and arps float around like soft clouds in and around you, reaching out and billowing away simultaneously.

The label welcomes one of the freshest producers of the circuit, Li-Polymer into the pack. His rework shines like a diamond here, which has a strong reverberations taking shape from within the original cut and transforms it into a sophisticated dance version. His trimmings bear a swollen bass, seasoned with bursts of exotic percussives against the vocal bed, seemingly singing along to the rhythms.

Next up, ‘Submarine’ has polka dot beats flickering here and there, shooting off an infectious energy with a genuine amount of transportive quality embedded in the whole body of the track. The bass fritters past glossy melodics, enveloping the dancer in an immersive blanket. It’s that hidden monster with a long shelf life and should find favors with many who play out underground DJ sets.
