When Disco Goes Wrong teams up with Lockdown Radio to present ‘I Lost My Shoes on Acid’, a compilation to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Lockdown Radio being on the airwaves. The compilation has 8 original tracks by various artists that have contributed to the success of the radio show and built the LR community.
Lockdown Radio was created by Graham Brand and Trudi Hamer in March 2020, just before the UK Government imposed a national lockdown, which was felt across the entire globe. Its loyal members have described it as a beacon of light in dark times, a place to be free, listen to music and forge great friendships.
One of the fantastic artists featured on the compilation is one of London’s finest cutting-edge and longstanding DJs, Colin Dale, a man that requires no introduction.
“My introduction to Lockdown Radio was via the group on Facebook. I’d been hearing the shows and talking with Trudi and when she asked me to do a feature mix from them, I was thrilled. The reason being is that they are a breath of fresh air with regards to their enthusiasm and dedication. This led to the LP which I’m excited to be involved in. It features both established and up and coming talent. I sense a lot of good things ahead for this crew, which is growing in leaps and bounds.” – Colin Dale
The compilation track from Colin, ‘Charon Dawn’ is a delicious deep house chugger. Grabbing your attention from the start, with bouncy percussion and a thumping kick before you’re sent surfing on a wave of warm ethereal synths. It goes up a gear when the bassline drops in, which sets you up nicely for the rest of the journey. As is common with Colin’s unique production abilities, you’ll find yourself in familiar territory with inviting surroundings, which is both a trademark and testament to Colin’s extensive knowledge and experience in this arena. The track progresses beautifully and plateaus along a bright and sparkly path, whilst still maintaining that deep grip. This is a splendid piece of work from Colin, a perfect way to see in the season of Spring and we can’t wait to hear this one blasting its way across the sound systems soon!
This compilation is a celebration of all that Lockdown Radio achieved in collaboration with an impressive array of guest DJs over the last 12 months. Happy birthday, Lockdown Radio!
