Out of Place Records is arguably one of the most prolific techno labels in Croatia at the moment. Ran by Insolate and Volster, the label has released tracks by Milton Bradley, Developer and Insolate herself.

The fourth vinyl-only releases is packed with four great artists. This various edition starts with French wizard François X and his A1 track ‘Intersection’. Opened with subtle toms and with crushed stabs, the track lingers on the dark side with its ominous background atmosphere.

A2 ‘Kickstart’ is a result of diverse Croatian producer Disrupted Project. The track jumps right in with a pulsating acid line that keeps ploughing through until the end keeping the rhythmic vibrating. This track explodes monstrously in the second half with a peak time break, sweeps and percussive after effect. The outcome is perfect
for those dark nights in a warehouse.

On the flip side, UK’s protagonist JoeFarr cooks a distorted madness with B1 ‘Coming Up For Air’. Although it opens with a deep feeling, the track soon takes a rave-like turn into a sharp mash of synth and pad bits. With a throbbing bass line and a punching sequence that draws the dancers minds into a journey.

Lastly, if François X delivered a perfect opener, Volster’s B2 ‘Invasive’ is a well-fitted opposite. This co-founder of the OOP label rounds the release with an atmospheric techno ride that cuts deep into a pervasive exchange of delayed synths and most importantly main pad sequence that wraps a morning feel over this sonic
boomer.
