fabric SELECTS returns for its seventh volume. Following DJ Q’s recent single ‘Lose My Cool’. The compilation gathers UK garage and bass material from both established names and newer producers, with an exclusive vinyl sampler carrying five of the original cuts.
The full line-up spans DJ Q, Bodhi, Ghoulish, 1111, Gemi, Kori, Daffy, Pj Bridger, Eloquin & Reimond, SEMPA, TARZI, Me & George, Jessi Lowkey, Lash, anse. and KAISUI.
DJ Q opens with ‘Lose My Cool’, a speed garage cut drawing on early 2000s UKG, built around a rolling bassline, shuffled percussion and autotuned vocals that move between rhythmic stabs and melodic hooks. The focus track sits with Ghoulish’s ‘This Bassline Smells Like Oil’, a gritty, near-industrial low end carrying a darker, more hypnotic energy.
Bodhi takes a low-slung approach with the emphasis on low-end movement. 1111 leans melodic, working sped-up vocal chops against a track that keeps shifting in tone, in a way that recalls early 2000s garage. Gemi and Kori strip things back to rhythmic essentials. Daffy and PJ Bridger work in territory closer to UK soundsystem culture, while Eloquin & Reimond head into deeper, more atmospheric ground.
Further in, SEMPA contributes a stripped-back club cut led by tight percussion and rolling sub. TARZI pushes into heavier club pressure, while Me & George bring a warmer touch without losing the low-end focus that runs through the release. Jessi Lowkey adds a smoother, vocal-led moment over deeper UKG rhythms. Lash delivers a sharper UK bass cut built for club use. anse. takes a more restrained route, working with tension and space rather than obvious peaks. KAISUI closes the compilation with a slower, bass-heavy track focused on weight and mood.
