Just like that a decade has quickly come and gone for My Favorite Robot Records [MFRR], as the Canadian label sets to celebrate 10 years of releasing music, artist collaborations, and label showcases, which have resonated around the globe. What began as a project to release their own music for My Favorite Robot [MFR], has grown into a respected brand in which label bosses Jared Simms and Voytek Korab will continue to push the limits.
To celebrate 10 years of My Favorite Robot Records, the label will kick off a worldwide label showcase tour throughout 2018. On February 2, the tour will debut in Berlin at the infamous Kater Blau with MFR alongside Kenny Glasgow and Skinnerbox [Live]. On February 3, the tour will continue in Zurich at Hive Club, featuring MFR, Ivan Smagghe, and Kenny Glasgow. There will also be a stop in Munich at Enter The Dragon in February. March 1, MFRR will head to Dubai, for Vibe Series with MFR, Chloe, and Fairmont, following a stop in Beirut March 3, at a soon to be announced location.
“It still amazes me every day that something we started without any grand expectations became such a globally respected brand and took us on such an amazing adventure in life. Very grateful to everyone involved in the last 10 years. Here’s to the next 10!” – Voytek Korab, MFRR
Additional 10-year anniversary Phase One tour stops for 2018 include: Control Club [Bucharest], The Good Room [New York], Music is 4 Lovers [San Diego], The Egg [London, UK], Riverside [Montreal], Summerdaze [Toronto] and Myth Nightclub [Jacksonville]. More cities and dates to be announced soon. The MFRR vision is simple. Ignore the norm and broaden the definition of electronic music in order to deliver it to as many music lovers as possible. The last 10 years has seen releases from artists such as Tim Paris, Jori Hulkkonen, Chloe, Kenny Glasgow, Fairmont, Patrice Baumel, Ivan Smagghe, Timo Maas to name but a few.
“It’s incredible that our label which was originally started to release our own music and of our close friends, has hit 10 years old, 166 releases, and allows us to travel the world showcasing our vision for electronic music. Having released music from musicians we’ve admired long before we started the label along with discovering new talents from Canada and around the world, remain a highlight for me. I can’t wait to tour alongside them in 2018 in what will certainly be an amazing 10th year!”
– Jared Simms, MFRR
