Five on Friday with DJ Oolong

This Friday, we’re over the moon to welcome one of the leading hands behind The Capeesh club nights, Mr. Harry Abraham, better known as DJ Oolong.

Alongside Hamish, Harry co-runs Capeesh, a party series hosted across intimate venues in London. Known for championing small to medium-sized spaces, Capeesh is built around the belief that the magic of a dancefloor comes from closeness, those shared moments of energy and connection that can often get lost in larger clubs.

This weekend sees Capeesh return to The Glove That Fits, joined by special guests babyschรถn and Ruf Dug. “We’ve been wanting to book Ruf Dug for a while now,” Harry says. “He has such a wide range and really keeps you on your toes with his selections, you never know what he’s gonna play next.” One standout memory? “A personal favourite was hearing him drop Shampoo, Trouble at Love International a couple of years ago.”

Harry is equally excited for babyschรถn’s appearance. “She’s got such a signature sound which we love, low-slung, sleazy and groovy. I’ve been really enjoying her NTS show recently, but I haven’t caught one of her sets in person yet, so I’m definitely looking forward to hearing her play at The Glove.”

Opening the night, DJ Oolong will be warming up the sound system with a deeper, chuggier selection than usual. “I often tend to veer towards higher-energy tracks in my sets, but I’m keen to explore the chuggier side of my sound for the warm-up tomorrow.”

Here are the five. Enjoy.

Deep and irresistible. The acid line rolls along perfectly above hypnotic vocals.

This one’s killer – pure wonk in typically brilliant style from Felix Dickinson.

Big fan of this EP – every track’s a banger. This one takes you on a wiggly and wonderful journey through the unknown, commanded by those mesmerising vocals. Special mention to Katanga Slide too.

Dark and stormy chugger – a masterclass in building tension.

Beautiful arp on top of some lovely squelchy bass… can’t go wrong.
