Franklin De Costa releases the gritty ‘Jolted EP’ on Mosca’s Not So Much

Artist: Franklin De Costa
Title: Jolted EP
Label: Not So Much
Release: Vinyl (Out Now), Digital (18th November 2016)
Genre: Techno

Label of self-made musical entrepreneur, Mosca is back with release number six. Franklin De Costa’s fresh EP featuring three trenchant Techno tracks that glow with a unique tone and a sensual surrounding ambience is set to light the stage.

‘Sssooo’ features a chopped breakbeat with a sinister sounding organ. A gritty arpeggio modulates around in the background with various grizzly effects switching things up before a pacey 303 comes in to add an extra layer of depth. This is some seriously cool and creepy haunted Techno.

‘MLDK’ get’s things moving again with that break-beat style Techno pattern Franklin has going on. Again, the feeling is dark and ghoulish. The haunting melodies of the reverberated saw waves rattle around in the atmosphere whilst a trippy bassline chomps away at the low end. We are hooked and in full motion.

We are taken on a more House packed journey with ‘Purple Train’. The plucky bass accompanies mesmerizing bell sounds which delay around in the outer perimeter. The drums sound warm and dry with an extremely distinguishable character. Franklin’s unique and dark minor melodies couldn’t have come at a better time really. They fit perfectly with the dark and cold winter nights. I can see these tracks easily finding their way into a dark Techno night.
