Front Room Announces Joris Voorn and Yotto at the Cloisters

Front Room and Hardware will present Joris Voorn and Yotto at the Cloisters Courtyard at Adelaide Uni as an open-air side show to Hypersonic Festival.

Voorn, a Dutch producer, began releasing music in the early 2000s. ‘Incident’, from his 2004 Lost Memories Part 2 EP, was picked up by Carl Cox, Derrick May and Laurent Garnier and remains one of his best-known tracks. His fifth studio album, Serotonin, came out on Spectrum and Armada and included singles with Tom Walker, Jan Blomqvist, and Yotto and White Lies on ‘Seventeen’.

The two have worked together before. Voorn signed the Finnish producer to his Green label, and Yotto’s music tends to balance a darker, melancholic tone with brighter melodies. ‘The Owls’ received Essential New Tune and Hottest Record in the World selections on BBC Radio 1 in 2016, and ‘Fire Walk’ reached number one on Beatport later that year. His 2018 debut album, Hyperfall, was released on Anjunadeep and included ‘The One You Left Behind’ with Margrรฉt Rรกn of Vรถk. In 2019 he started his own label, Odd One Out.

Front Room is one of Adelaide’s most respected promoters and it has built that standing through steady, considered programming. For this show it is working with Hardware, and Inside Out Audio will supply a full Funktion-One system, along with production, lighting and lasers.

Locals: Solace, Kelly S and Villa, and Audioporn and Souli complete the line-up.

The Cloisters is an unusual outdoor venue for electronic music, and this show gives Adelaide audiences a chance to see both artists in a smaller setting than the festival.
