Gatecrasher to celebrate its 24th Birthday on 20th and 21st October – Prepare for Sonic Heaven, bass driven beats with an Orchestra

Gatecrasher are pleased to announce that for two nights the lion will roar at Sheffield City Hall on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st October… only this time it’s Classical.

The world-renowned clubbing brand will be taking their iconic sound to the next level at the stunning Sheffield City Hall, where they will combine a live 50 piece orchestra with a timeless trance soundtrack to create, in their own words, ‘sonic heaven’. Expect some of the biggest trance tracks which have become emblazoned in the hearts & souls of the Gatecrasher faithful, played like you’ve never heard them before, promising lots of hands in the air moments and one unforgettable experience. Gatecrasher Classical will feature a spectacular laser & light show plus an array of special FX all set within the stunning backdrop of Sheffield City Hall. The event will be played through a full club sound system.

This showcase will see them partner up with the 50 piece Orchestra to take over Sheffield City Hall for one night only, reimagining all the classic records which made Gatecrasher revered across the globe in the stunning surroundings of Sheffield City Hall as they celebrate the venues 85th birthday this year and which is part of the 24th birthday celebrations of Gatecrasher.

Hosted by original resident Judge Jules and curated by Scott Bond the show will feature live performances by original artistes Live performances by original vocalists: ‘as the rush comes’ by Jes ,’Skydive’ performed by Jan Johnston ,’Bullet in The Gun’ by Merle Forbes.

2017 marks the 85th birthday of Sheffield City Hall. Over the years the venue has played host to many celebrated musicians including The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Pulp and Moby to name a few. The venue is also home to the Sheffield International Concert Season attracting some of the finest orchestras and classical performers from across the world including The Hallé who are currently the orchestra in residence and season programmers.
