German duo Monkey Safari set to tour Australia this January

Since their conception, Monkey Safari’s mantra has been to deliver sunny vibes to even the most desolate dance floors. Among the duo’s jam-packed schedule last year which featured shows all over the globe, were an visit to Australia back in January where they featured at Rainbow Serpent Festival, Netherland’s Awakenings festival in June and The Social Festival in England. When they weren’t busy spreading sunshine behind the decks the German brothers were busy writing new music, and in 2016 the duo managed to squeeze out three EPs on their new imprint Hommage. The EPs also feature remixes from a number of dance music greats which include Paco Osuna, Victor Ruiz and Blond:ish. They were also in high demand as remixers and did a remix for dance legend Moby and The Void Pacific’s track ‘Almost Loved’.

The ever-evolving duo’s recent endeavours have seen them step away from their first label to focus on their latest project Hommage. As well as focusing on their own label, Monkey Safari have plans to revitalise their dormant party promotion talents where they’ll be introducing a new series of events. The parties will showcase new talents to play alongside them in some of the best clubs the world has to offer. Almost exactly twelve months after their last stint in Australia, Monkey Safari are back for four dates that are not to be missed.

“Riding in with the power to deliver sunshine to the world’s rainiest open air events, Monkey Safari bring rays of light to whatever dance floor they cast their shimmering spell on.

2015 saw the brothers swinging to new trees, retiring their previous labels to focus on their new label Hommage. It has been a year of transformation for the German producers, developing and tailoring a sound suited perfectly for the unique club nuances while still keeping the core elements of melodic chords and grooves synonymous with their productions. 2015 unveiled Monkey Safari’s remix for Marc Houle’s ‘Pepper’ on Richie Hawtin’s label Minus and their hugely successful Cranes and Walls EPs that presented opportunities for the duo to work with some exciting musicians such as Wolf + Lamb and Kölsch, as well as techno heavyweights Guy Gerber, Josh Wink and one of dance music’s most iconic producers, Moby.

2016 followed in a similar fashion with a series of remixes and new material over the course of the year. Their first EP of 2016, On, featured remixes from techno legend Paco Osuna alongside French producer Chloé. Some of electronic music’s top names are set to receive the Safari makeover with the developed and matured sound apparent in the brothers latest movements. Monkey Safari’s remix for Moby and The Void Pacific Choir is the pick of the bunch, returning the favour after Moby’s successful rework of the duo’s track ‘Walls’ last year.

The duo’s efforts in the studio have transcended to their DJ sets with stand out shows at Time Warp USA and Germany culminating a very successful year. With a heavy touring schedule, the brothers had the opportunity to test their evolving sound once again to new crowds with a slot at Awakenings Festival as the stand out attraction of 2016. Monkey Safari has exciting plans lined up including a new event series that will see some of the scene’s top emerging talents play alongside the brothers in the world’s best clubs. This series of new events will see the duo rekindle their love for party promotion since their tender years in their hometown of Halle, Germany, where they own the infamous and recently remodelled Charles Bronson club.

The German outfit has been on an incredible run of form with promising developments in all of their endeavours and exciting news still to come. Be it a fresh remix or EP drop, DJ set or party, Monkey Safari will be sure to touch all scopes of dance culture this 2016 with no signs of deceleration on the horizon.

Their mandate remains the same, sending sunny vibes to make even the darkest dance floors smile.
