GNTN release their first Desert Hearts Black EP

Desert Hearts Black brings German heavyweights GNTN back into its fold with ‘Surround.’ The record marks their first full EP on the label, following two singles on its inaugural ‘Gateways’ compilation. Luke Alessi also features on remix duties.

‘Surround’ is emblematic of the distinctive, melodically forward aesthetic GNTN have homed in on. Both pieces fit well into peak time, each anchored by heavy kicks and subtle, yet strong bass. Analog synths additionally play a starring role in ‘Surround,’ arranged into darkened melodies in the EP’s title track while taking a more melancholic direction in the closer, ‘Solstice.’ Luke Alessi injects even more energy to ‘Surround,’ boosting its vocals and distinctive melodic riff with added drum patterns and lo-fi filtering.

GNTN have quickly asserted themselves as next generation leaders in the melodic techno realm. In under a decade, the 21 year-olds been tapped by the likes of Yoshitoshi, Einmusika, and Stil Vor Talent for records. From their home base, GNTN have established a strong presence across Europe with gigs ranging from Egg London to Parookaville festival.
