Established in 2007 by a group of South London DJs, Grin Recordings have been releasing music and running events for the last 8 years. From boat parties in Ibiza to the 103 at Ministry Of Sound in London, the Coronet Theatre for the official South West Four Festival after party and more recently a bi-monthly residency at the chic venue Electric Social, Brixton.
In the summer of 2014 they hosted a UK festival tour with the infamous Holi One brand, touring every major city in England, Ireland & Scotland with a 16,000 strong crowd at Wembley Park in London as well as Dublin, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Southampton, Belfast and Birmingham’s raucous Rainbow Arena. For their first collaboration with Key Of Life and Lightbox, they have invited French house & tech-house connoisseur Olivier Giacomotto to headline as a special guest. Olivier’s productions have found their way onto imprints like Get Physical, Noir Music, Toolroom & Great Stuff Recordings and is a mainstay in the Beatport top 100. Joining Olivier is Grin’s very own Tim Cullen.
Holding down a three year residency with London’s seminal dance music mecca Ministry Of Sound is no mean feat. Tim is now part of the super-club’s world tours and as well as managing Grin, he has released music with the likes of Toolroom Records, Floorplay Music & 303 Lovers collaborating with label head Luigi Rocca. Tim’s partner in crime at the label is Made By Pete. Their recent collaboration ‘Full English’ picked up support from the likes of Weiss, Prok & Fitch, Bushwaka, Nice 7, Joyce Muniz and Horse Meat Disco to name few. An international DJ in his own right, MBP has DJ’d under many guises spinning at underground hot spots like Chinese Laundry in Sydney and Space in Ibiza. His latest release on Love & Other records ‘Our Story’ was supported by none other than Pete Tong on BBC radio 1.
Alongside the label heads, Grin welcomes two of it’s up and coming stars. Ben Remember, who’s remix of Made By Pete’s ‘Our Story’ was the cut Mr Tong selected for Radio 1, joins the raw young talent that is August Five. His latest EP on Grin has been ruffling feathers amongst house musics elite and his remix on Ben Remember’s forthcoming single ‘The Show Ft. Bex Jackson’ is a testament to how far he has come in such a short time.
