Groove on the Grass Festival heads to Asia

GROOVE ON THE GRASS, a music and art festival, will have its debut edition in Asia on December 1st and 2nd 2023. An indoor festival GROOVE IN TAIPEI will, for the first time, bring its world-class music selection and electrifying atmosphere, straight to the Taiwan capital. The music program will be presented across three stages, including one of the city’s largest and most attractive venues – Westar, the famous club Studio 9 and its intimate backroom known as Kitchen. The lineup presents the global techno icons BEN KLOCK, ELLEN ALLIEN AND DEWALTA, alongside internationally acclaimed artists such as DEIAN, MARLIE, CODE WU and AFRODITE. The local scene will be represented by an array of talented artists, such as JAMIE Q, HER CHEN & MOLLY LIN, MILA, VICE CITY, BERNIE CYL, GAZER, MAX HUANG, MATEO SAVO, THOMAS FUTOSO, FELIX YANG, MINIJAY, HENREE, KIKO.

BEN KLOCK, one of the biggest techno titans, Berghain resident and Klockworks label owner will be spinning his intense and powerful yet diverse DJ set filled with artistry. ELLEN ALLIEN, almighty techno lady and a founder of the iconic BPitch Control label will be bringing her high-octane beats and distinct use of vocals with irresistible rhythms. DEWALTA, a trained jazz musician, Meander label boss and a top minimal house selector will enchant the crowd with his hypnotizing and rolling grooves.

DEIAN is an internationally acclaimed artist and Groove On The Grass founder, who is spreading his magic at the hottest global dancefloors, from Ibiza to Burning Man and beyond. MARLIE is an Australian-born, London based driving force of the micro house scene, who is bringing her bristling combination of punchy percussive flow and exciting hooks. Taiwan’s own yet internationally acclaimed CODE WU, a Beatport top 50 artist and a Golden Indie Music Awards winner, has allured the world with his eclectic mix of techno and electronica, and played shows from the ADE to Glastonbury. Seoul’s AFRODITE, regional rising star will present her groovy and eclectic set that captivates the listener and immerses them in the flow.

GROOVE IN TAIPEI is located in a large commercial building in Ximending, the buzzing tourist area in Taipei, famous for its culture, art, gaming and entertainment. The spacious and modern venue Westar is one of Taiwan’s flagship event venues with state-of-the-art facilities and an impeccable setup. Studio 9 is one of the city’s clubbing hotspots that, besides the perfect sound, presents visual art installations and brings a refreshing vibe. The Kitchen is an intimate back room of Studio 9.

Groove On The Grass started 11 years ago as an electronic music festival and has now evolved into an immersive cultural experience. With a focus on freedom of expression, Groove On The Grass and all its events are dedicated to bringing creative, fun-loving people together and comes with good vibes.

The first release of the 2-day passes is available at the price of NT$2,500 while the 1-day passes will cost NT$1,500.
