Review by Andy Howarth

Arriving with a 2 track EP on the wonderful Lost & Found imprint, the inimitable Guy J once again treats us to a glorious insight into his acoustically colourful world. As one of Progressive House’s elite producers, he works harder than most to bless the world with top shelf melodic Dance, and this EP is no exception.

Starting with ‘Dizzy Moments’, there’s warm soundscapes-a-plenty to massage your ears whilst his intricate keys parry with the backing melodies and steadily build towards a crescendo. It’s quite reminiscent of Damabiah’s work and I dare say that if you’re a fan of this ethereal brand of Dance (and I certainly am), then this should tick all your wistful boxes.

‘Diaspora’ is a deeper and darker brute that reminded me of some of the finer releases from the legendary Platipus label, most noteably ‘Blue’ by Narcotik. A rolling techy bassline is contrasted by a twinkling ambient key arrangement, and the track as a whole fits nicely in that gap between the calmer earlier stages of your set and the full-on 4 to the floor of the later hours.  As accomplished and engaging as you would expect from one of the most talented men on the scene today… Fully recommended.

Born of the Oxfordshire countryside, Andy has always preferred the quaint aspects of life around a historic city to the hustle and bustle of places like London or Birmingham. That said, the desire to satisfy his thirst for live music has led to him fleeing the tranquility of rural life on a regular basis, in favour of regions where the nightlife doesn't have to come to an abrupt end at 3am.
