If you were wandering then get prepared to be ‘Lost’, as the magic of supremo music maker Guy J treats us to a goodie bag of two tracks out later this month on his prolific label, Lost & Found
Kick starting this latest offering from the ground breaking Tel Aviv giant has all the ‘J’ factor without a doubt, harnessed tightly in the first track, “Octavia” that gives us a slippery slope to slide from. Right from the tingling Marimba coordinates that catch a fire along-side slathering bass, the tune refuses to let you down all throughout its 8 minutes; remember this is floor swooning from the legendary DJ/Producer at its best. The flexible winding around of the exterior electronics and seemingly random percussives makes for fascinating work to put it simply. As it goes Guy deploys unadorned classical lines to the tune, in the name of Progressive.
“Release Me” on the other hand delights with the looping to infinity back ground and so does the bass line bounce in between the subtle percussion painting a slowed down picture, until the massively structured melodic content with much pings and tinkles scattered inside gives your brains some work out. The rest of the swirls present throws out a blanket of thick smog going this way and that slow and defiant. This is chunked out dance floor fodder which most Guy J fans will rejoice in; right through the frigid depths to the uplifting and satisfying journey this track creates to the very end.
