Habischman shows you the way

Artist : Habischman
Title : The Way EP
Label : Selador
Release : Out Now
Genre : Tech House / Progressive House

Following his superb remix on Quivver’s ‘Wait For You’ for Selador last summer, Iman Habibi aka Habischman makes his fully fledged artist debut on Dave Seaman & Steve Parry’s imprint with a four track EP fit for a king. The Iranian born Berlin resident has been making some tidal sized waves recently with releases on the likes of Moda Black, Noir Music, Steyoyoke & Booka Shade’s Blaufield and if I might be so bold, this release is massive.

The dance floor can be a dull place without a decent song to sing. The 90s were positively awash with them, but in recent years the number of stand out underground anthems with a strong lyrical element has passed this music geek by. Thanks goodness then for the irresistible depth of the title track ‘The Way’ which surely does what it sets out to do. I only wish the vocal element carried all through the song, its incredibly emotive and fits the track perfectly.

In fact the whole EP is brilliant. From the shimmering smoothness of deep house cut ‘Skin’ to the pulsating dramatics of ‘All I Dream’ and seductive bounce of progressive houser ‘Dub Rumors’, Mr Hababi’s considerable studio craft is plain to see, and I can only imagine the size of Dave & Steve’s grins when this dropped into their inbox.
