Henry Saiz’s trance-inducing style is one that captures the essence of mystery. His latest release on his own label Natura Sonoris, ‘For Days & Nights’, featuring Eloy comes in a neat 2 track package, both of equal glory. The stunning atmospheres and soft, subtle elements used make for a serene pack which delivers feelings of pure relaxation, whilst still giving us something great to dance to.
The ‘Boiler Room Version’, as you may expect, has a darker overall feel in comparison to the ‘Dawn Version’. The drums are lined with a lovely reverb to give a bit of space. Tribal percussion loops over until a nice vocal is introduced on top of a melodic change in the bass line before a huge saw wave slams home and sets us on our way to transcendence. Pads, filtered pianos and delightful delays fill the stratosphere. The melodies are solid and the arrangement is perfect for the style. This is a record that instantly becomes a memorable favourite.
The ‘Dawn Version’ features a switch in tempo with a short 16th grid arpeggio lined above the deep bass and those fantastic sounding drums. Plucky bells add a nice character whilst a slow moving piano adds a touching minor progression. The vocals have been processed in a different manner this time, giving a lo-fi feel that works very well. This pack is a perfect example of Henry’s undeniable talent and is one that will slot straight into those deep underground sets.
