Russian Ivan Latyshev is back with a brace of new tunes that will surely soar this summer given their airy and sun kissed aesthetics. They come as part of the Simple Minds EP on What’s in the Box and are backed with two remixes, one from Giom, one from Wild Culture.
Simple Minds in original form is a sexy, tasting bit of house with nice nimble chords and a sexualised, writhing vocal that really imbues it with a ton of feeling. The Wild Culture remix is a subtle rework that strips some of the synth drama and allows the warm chords to do most of the work. Frenchman Giom then reworks it into a taught bassline driven affair that harks back to the spangly 80s disco scene. The other original is Woman’s Issues, a summery little jaunt with nice chords and a live sounding percussive line that makes you feel goooood.
