This cool rework of the classic Jamiroquai track, Space Cowboy caught our attention recently. Ash Proctor, while still young (24), has been a face in the UK clubbing mecca of Leeds for some time now. In that time, he has developed his own unique take on the House aesthetic blending deep, blissful melody with crisp tight percussion.
Releases on Love Not Money Records, WHOYOSTRO, Tympanic and Cubiq Dice have strengthened his reputation and support from local Leeds hero Hot Since 82 and Claude VonStroke has not gone unnoticed.
“I’ve always been a massive fan of Jamiroquai, so it felt very natural to do a rework. I wanted to create a nice summer terrace vibe, so I kept the track fairly simple with a nice rolling bass and careful use of filters to create different levels of vocal throughout the mix. – Ash Proctor
