Jimmy van M launches a new Latin American electronic music revolution!

Mater and Xperimental are two distinctive new record labels/music platforms at the heart of an evolving creative concept headed by Diego Tuñón (the Grammy Award winning producer and keyboardist from Argentina’s Babasónicos, one of the Top 5 rock bands from Latin America) and Jimmy Van M (renowned global DJ/Producer, electronic music craftsman and creator of the Sasha and John Digweed Delta Heavy Tour, with over 20 years experience).

Mater is focused on electronic dance artists from all around the world, whilst Xperimental (launching April 2016) will focus on developing a label roster of exceptional young electronic artists from all over Latin America. A flow of exciting cross-cultural artistic pollination between both music labels will be a key feature.

Mater’s launch release comes from Peter Csaszar (aka Peet) from Budapest, Hungary, who is already winning much respect for developing his ever-evolving style characterised by mixing electronica with deep, melodic and cutting-edge techno. His productions have now found a new and creatively expansive home on Diego Tuñón and Jimmy Van M’s exciting new mothership.

Watermelon Stories’ displays a relaxed ethereal beauty that builds into a menacingly absorbing, hypnotizing masterpiece, as Peet works his magic by drawing from a musical palette that references a classic electronic past with a distinctly futuristic edge. The excitement increases as ‘Deeper Still’ wastes no time launching dramatically with an intense, bubbling, linear power groove that evolves through an array of electronic flourishes and drops that serve to subtly enhance and build the track’s energy inexorably throughout.

In distinct creative contrast, ‘The Other Side Stand Of The Giant Marble’ is a piece of slo-mo experimental electronica with fantastic filmic qualities. This intriguing theme is expanded upon by Diego Tuñon & Jimmy Van M Remix as they build a mind-meltingly delicious, low-slung 111bpm groove, with a multitude of stunning twists and turns that takes ‘The Other Side Stand Of The Giant Marble’ on an unforgettable journey into the future; exhibiting to perfection the boundless creative freedom within the Mater ethos.

By joining the dots between electronic music’s universal, futuristic possibilities and Latin America’s pulsating live musical heritage, a fresh and passionate, exciting musical / cultural mix is set to evolve and develop across the Mater and Xperimental platforms. A new electronic Latin American musical revolution is taking shape and going global in 2016.
