Joeski provides ‘Lessons In Dub’ with his latest three track EP on Poker Flat Recordings

Artist: Joeski
Title: Lessons In Dub EP
Label: Poker Flat Recordings
Release: Out Now!
Genre: Tech House

A product of the illustrious 90s New York rave scene, Joeski shows us his incredible style once again with a slamming three tracker out on world-class German label Poker Flat Recordings.

‘Dub Music’ gets us underway with that solid 808 surrounded by a tight grooving percussive line and lovely rough hi-hats. The track is built up nicely with various fx that give it an incredible flow. Joeski has managed to turn what seems to be a tom into a really cool grooving melody which sits just next to the super vocals. This is top notch underground.

Joeski goes on to answer the question ‘What Is Dub Love?’. The answer is illuminating! It really is incredible what this guy can do with a minimal palette. The main parts of the record are made up of classic 808 drums, but with added character and grit. The vocals, again, are super cool and unique. There is no slowing down here, we have 2 cracking tracks so far.

‘Roots’ finishes up this fine EP in an epic foray of finely tuned House. The bright gritty drums make the track super bright and lush, whilst that grooving looping bassline keeps us in full throttle. The atmosphere generated by the big dubby delays really captures the imagination. This is top class work from a top class producer.
