When you get a track as big as ‘Talkin’ To You’ remixed by two huge techno names like Carl Cox and Jon Rundell you know you are going to be in for a treat. I was a huge fan of the original and could not wait to get this remix package blasting out the office speakers!

First up on the remix is the man himself, Carl Cox. Straight away he has turned this from a superb 303 lead, dark room track into a full on, main room monster that is filled with a great stabby bassline and bucket loads of percussion. There is no doubt this would sound absolutely insane in the main room at Space or on any thunderous sound system. The familiar vocal sample is used throughout and we do get the odd 303 squelch in parts but it is not constant throughout, like the original. Definitely one for the main room techno heads!

Jon Rundell’s take on this Josh Wink track is a very different affair. This is more along the deeper sounds of techno/tech house that is a little more stripped back than Coxy’s take on the original. The bassline has a more growling sound to it and the hi hats and percussion used are more what we have become accustomed to from Rundell.

The 303 is a lot more prominent in this remix and I must admit I do prefer that… I am a sucker for some acid! As expected the vocal is there but it is not quite as effected as Coxy’s take or the original. I really like what Rundell has created here. A really nice deep, moody, techno groover that would certainly get those hips shaking on any dance floor. Nice work!

Both great remixes and both would do damage on any respective dance floor. However, for me, the original will always be the go-to guy but definitely look here if you want a little more pace and more big room feel from your tracks.
