Julianna Barwick announces “HEALING IS A MIRACLE” UK tour September 2021

Julianna Barwick announces a string of tour dates for September 2021, bringing her lauded live show to the UK for the first time since releasing critically acclaimed album “Healing is a Miracle” on Ninja Tune earlier this year.

A distinctive meditation on sound, reverb and the voice, “Healing Is A Miracle” is a record built on improvisation and a close affinity to a couple of trusted items of gear, from which she spins engrossing, expansive universes. The album received praise from the likes of Pitchfork (Best New Music), NPRThe New York TimesLoud & Quiet, AV Club and The Observer who described the album as “the sound of sunlit uplands, where tantalising cadences resolve into perfect peace – that will stay with you and be a balm to your soul”. It also features the input of three collaborators with whom she has nurtured deep friendships with over the years: Jónsi (Sigur Rós), Nosaj Thing, and Mary Lattimore; who each gently nudge out at the edges of Barwick’s organically-evolved sound.

Since the release Barwick partnered with Calm—the #1 app for sleep, meditation and relaxation—to release three extended versions of album tracks ‘Inspirit’, ‘Healing Is A Miracle’ and ‘Wishing Well’

More recently, “Healing is a Miracle” has been chosen as one of the #loverecordstores ‘Independent Albums of the Year’, voted for by a cross section of notable independent record stores, with an exclusive vinyl pressing available now in select stores. More info can be found here https://www.loverecordstores.com/. The album has also been included in other notable 2020 end of year lists including CrackThe Line of Best FitPasteBrooklyn VeganUNCUT and radio’s Lauren Laverne, who all selected the release as one of their favourites of the year.
